Developmental Disabilities

Service Options

Services include psychological assessment and consultation, QMRP services, behavior management, residential habilitation, community day habilitation, respite, adult companion, nursing, and supported employment services.

Therapeutic Consultant

All services are provided under the guidance of a Therapeutic Consultant. The TC may have a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree and several years of experience working with the developmentally disabled. Services include evaluation of an individual’s strengths and needs, development of training programs to meet the individual’s needs, monitoring of programs, staff supervision and training and consultation with care providers.

Behavior Management

We help identify specific behaviors which may be problematic and assess the function or "purpose" of the behaviors to be addressed. And individualized program of intervention is written including step-by-step guidelines for both the prevention of targeted behavior and interventions to use when the behaviors occur. We provide ongoing education and training to care proviers to implement the program consistently. Programs are continuously monitored for effectiveness through date collection and ongoing contact with care providers.

Residential Habilitation

We offer this service to assist individuals to acquire and/or maintain skills to live more independently in their homes and communities. This service offers 1:1 training by staff in such areas as personal care, household chores, food preparation and other related areas. All training programs are developed and supervised by a QMRP.

Community Day Habilitation

This service provides functional training in skills necessary for community integration. Services are provided in the community. Areas of focus might include use of public transportation, shopping skills, ordering meals in restaurants and pedestrian safety among others. All training programs are developed and supervised by a QMRP.

Respite

We recognize the importance of the physical and emotional well-being of the primary care providers. Respite services provide staff to assist care providers in time of crisis, emergency, or when they jest need a "break."

Adult Companion

Adult companion services provide staff to assist an individual with daily living activities within their home and community. The staff provides support to the individual during non-training activities for the purpose of community inclusion and integration. The adult companion may assist or supervise the individual with such tasks as meal preparation, laundry and shopping, but do not perform these activities as discrete services.

Nursing

Nursing services are services listed in the plan of care of the IPP for each individual which are within the scope of the state’s nursing act and are provided by a registered professional nurse, or a licensed practical nurse (under the supervision of a registered nurse). The nurse will work with the direct care staff to assess client’s medical needs, hygiene issues and daily living skills that might affect personal health. Services will also help clients and families understand medication use, side effects and adverse reactions. A nurse will meet with the client/guardian to discuss specific medical issues, help increase communication with doctors, medication administration and other health care concerns.

Community Employment

Infinity Community Employment Services, a part of PAIS, Inc. assists individuals in choosing businesses or community sites in which to volunteer to learn more about their particular areas of interest. Job placement and supported employment services are also provided to assist individuals to obtain and maintain successful, competitive employment.

Who is eligible for services?

All individuals who receive funding under the Title XIX Waiver Program and individuals with a valid Medicaid card and who carry a psychiatric or substance abuse diagnosis. Services are also available on a private pay basis.

Yes. We currently provide the full range of services to 29 counties in WV. We have offices in most geographic regions.
